KEY ISSUES TO ADDRESS

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Collaborate with fellow board members to ensure a balanced budget and make recommendations to decision-makers on initiatives to lower property taxes.

Intended Outcome:

Allocate resources throughout the county that are guided by a balanced and approved budget.

Infrastructure

Enhance the most challenging areas of Lake Villa that need infrastructure improvements such as railroad crossing, roads, sidewalks, and bike lanes.

Intended Outcome:

Save time and gas waiting for long trains to cross the tracks, safe way to travel by bicycle in the spring and summer with designated areas to ride, easier access to businesses for potential revenue growth with more sidewalks.

MENTAL HEALTH

Address the growing need for mental health services in Lake County. Increase the number of mental health facilities and licensed practitioners to treat the mentally ill. It is important to expand awareness of mental illness as a serious matter that needs more time and attention.

Intended Outcomes:

Potentially improve the quality of life for those suffering from mental illness by providing access to local facilities and licensed professionals to obtain care and treatment.

Environmental protection

Develop environmental educational programs for the youth; plant more trees across the county and encourage the residents to plant more trees on their property;

Intended Outcomes:

Improving clean air, clean energy, and open spaces to preserve the environment.

WHY I AM RUNNING FOR OFFICE

“Building strong communities mean working collectively to achieve common goals.  Understanding the needs and concerns of voters, and listening to those issues that keep them up at night is my mission. Collaborating with local businesses, schools, and elected officials to realize the mission is my commitment.”

Favorite bible verse that guides my work in public office:

Proverbs 31:8-9 NIV "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. [9] Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
